The View Screen Report feature does require configuration of the following:
- Report Rights Template screen
- Report Groups screen
- User Settings
- Reporting Module Settings
Users may also need to configure individual reports if you are attempting to configure a screen report that is not included in the out-of-the-box Crystal screen reports provided at installation.
Report Rights Template Settings
- Navigate to the Report Rights Template screen, Report Access tab.
- Select New to create a new Template ID or Edit to edit an existing Template ID.
The Template ID corresponds to the name of a User Group.
- Select Execute for each report that you wish users of the selected Template ID to be able to execute.
- Save the Report Access record.
Report Groups Screen Settings
- Navigate to the Report Groups screen, Reports By Screen tab.
- Select New to create a new Report Group ID or Edit to edit an existing Report Group ID.
- Confirm or create records that associate a Screen ID with a Report name within the Reports By Screen data table.
Report names can be found in the Directory of Standard Reports.
- Save the Report Group ID record.
User Settings
- Navigate to the Users screen, Basic Info tab.
- Select a Report group ID that allows the user you are configuring to execute reports belonging to that Report group ID.
- Assign a group to the user in the Groups Currently Assigned tab that has the rights to Report access.
To confirm whether a group has the proper rights to Report access:
- Navigate to or use the zoom button to open the User Groups screen for the group you are confirming.
- Ensure that the group you are confirming has been selected for Report access in the Rights Template tab.
- Save the User record.
Reporting Module Settings
- Navigate to the Reporting Module.
- Select a report group from the Reports menu on the left of the screen.
- Select Publish next to the report you wish to use in the View Screen Report feature.
- When a report is published, the report will be available for use by users with the rights to view that report. To remove the report from view, select the UnPublish button and the report will no longer be visible to users.
You must publish each report prior to defining security rights.
